What will you find here? The story of a girl (journalist Lauren Piro). Sometimes she's frank - other times introspective. Some days she'll want to show you the newest thing she's found that's pretty - other days she'll speak her mind about the latest news. And sometimes she will write about cupcakes. Or pandas. Or magazines. And even more, some days she'll write about cool things great women are doing. But mostly, you will watch her grow, and she hopes that you grow with her (and engage!) as she prepares to hang up her school bag and ... well, what does come after that?

What is In Her Two Shoes?
Well, it's about being in my shoes, obviously, and I plan on continuing a lot of the kind of blogging I was doing before - my opinions, my thoughts, my likes and dislikes, and generally what I'm up to. I'll still be blogging about magazines - and cupcakes, of course - but I'll also be expanding my theme a bit. Because this blog isn't just about being in my shoes - it's about being in her shoes. So many women are doing so many great things - I love hearing about all of them and I'm sure you will too (or maybe you are one of those women!). So while yes, this blog will still mostly be about me and my transition from college to career (eek!) I also can't wait to engage other women's projects, advice, and creativity.

Okay, in a nutshell, here you'll hear about my life, my thoughts, and my aspirations as I enter into the world of media (magazines, specifically ... hopefully). But you'll also read about things that are pretty, other media that are cool, and women who are doing amazing things. Got it?
Yes! But hey - weren't you a big talker about switching to Wordpress? Why are you at Blogger?
For a while, yes, that was the plan, but I was really impressed with the integrated platform of Blogger and Google. It made it easy to register this domain, set up my new e-mail (lauren@inhertwoshoes.com), and customize this blog in any way I want. Plus, I had already plunked down a decent amount of cash for hosting the soon-to-be-up laurenpiro.com, which I thought was enough coding and FTP for me (yes I'm designing it and coding it myself!).
